Chalk and Pebbles

No Disney this past weekend; we just can't face that much magic in one month. Instead, we ventured Out East, into the Orlando suburbs, for a 5th birthday party for Kel's friend's daughter. We came with the 'cage' and set it up in the backyard between the adults' table and the beanbag horseshoe game; promptly we relocated it out of the UV danger zone since NL spurned their sunscreen. The kids briefly dabbled with some patio chalk art (briefly, since they devoted more time to tasting the chalk than scraping with it). Fast forward two and a half hours, and we're on our way home. 31 more hours, and here I am, one eye blogging, one eye on West Side Story.

For one week now Noelle has been exhibiting an upper tooth, joining the collection of two on the lower jaw. Mr. Lucas is still all gums but makes up for the lack with his fetching old man smile. With this recent addition, Noelle is now able to engage in a barely audible tooth grind, as if gnashing a few aquarium pebbles.

Last Friday the kids had a 9-month pediatrician visit. Noelle still leads on the scale: 17lb 12oz, versus 17lbs flat for Lucas. Each beared one vaccine shot and vowed not to return until their one-year anniversary.
