Yesterday, in preparation for an outing with the dogs, Kelly put on, or rather walked into, a pair of giant blue shorts. They were cotton, with a drawstring and two voluminous pockets in front, each seemingly capable of swallowing a box of Kleenex or one standard-width shoe. I was seeing these for the first time and couldn't resist a smirk. Though that was uncalled for; if that's what's comfortable these days, then God love her, she should wear them with pride and without my smart-ass remarks.
A few hours later I realized that these shorts were nothing compared to the ghastly items that decorate the racks in today's maternity shops: shirts announcing "Coming This Fall", "Baby Under Construction" and even one for dad: "Men Who Change Diapers Rule" What?! A note for our readers-- if anyone presents me with this shirt, it will become a diaper.
